Green Thumb programs focus on water conservation

Highland Lakes Master Gardener Association is focusing on water conservation and ways to use water wisely.A series of Green Thumb programs is offered with conservation in mind, presented by Kelly Tarla, Burnet County AgriLife Extension agent. The programs are free and open to the public.

Oak Hill Cemetery continues spring cleaning

Oak Hill Cemetery staff and the Oak Hill Cemetery Association will continue spring cleaning efforts this month.Families with loved ones at the cemetery are encouraged to come help “spruce up” gravesites May 19-23 between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Child Abuse Prevention Month

April was Child Abuse Prevention Month, and the local CPS board offered its appreciation to the community for helping support this cause. Storefront windows were painted by Sarah Santini and Jeanie Smith to bring awareness to child abuse prevention, and XFX members helped place signs around town.

A few spots remain for Little Badger Theatre Camp

The Lampasas Theatre Company will host its annual Little Badger Camp for incoming first- through sixth-graders May 19-23 at Lampasas High School.The camp will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day.
