The city of Lampasas is ramping up its search for a new city manager. The city reposted the job opening on its website Aug. 26.The posting comes after the city took a break in receiving applications during the springtime.

An early pioneer of fuel motorcycle drag racing, Lampasas County resident Mel Disharoon has reached speeds few others have matched.In the 1960s, Disharoon tested the limits of motorcycles, setting multiple track records at Lions Drag Strip near Long Beach, California.

Abbott adviser to speak at Conservative Alliance meeting

Texas First Conservative Alliance will host Nate Schatzline, senior adviser to Gov. Abbott, for a special presentation on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at Lampasas Community Church, 1604 E. Fourth St. The meeting is open to the public.
