Creating Badger Builders program sees successful year

As the 2023-2024 school year winds down, Creating Badger Builders’ focus remains full steam ahead. Last month, the group held its second annual fundraiser at the Lampasas County Youth Show Barn, raising more than $65,000 for materials to complete the development efforts of tiny homes built by Lampasas High School construction students.

Wheeler looks to shine at Tournament of Champions

Lampasas High School sophomore Cale Wheeler will be competing at the JW Patterson Tournament of Champions this weekend at the University of Kentucky. The national competition looks to bring the best of the best high school speech and debate students together for the event.

LHS academics team wins third district championship

The Lampasas High School Academic, Speech and Debate teams competed in Burnet the first week of April at the district UIL competition, and LHS brought home its third consecutive district championship. “These young people have worked since August on their events, and thanks to their determination and the hard work put in by their coaches, the Badgers qualified 26 students in 15 different events to regionals in Nacogdoches on April 27,” said Judith Ann McGhee, UIL coordinator at the high school.

This year’s edition of the Riata Roundup Rodeo & LTX BBQ Fest will take place at the 580 Sports Complex from April 25-27. Vendor booths have sold out for the event, but those looking to register their youngster for mutton busting or the barbecue cook-off may do so.
