Beef prices show hints of stabilizing

Near-record-high beef prices may be leveling off or dropping slightly this fall, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Texas A&M Agricultural Economics.

Street closed

The city of Lampasas has announced that Pecan Street, from East Third to East Fourth Street, will be closed from Aug. 26 through Sept. 4. Drivers should avoid this work zone on the east side of the courthouse.

Student enrollment down to start 2026-2027 term

First-week enrollment for the Lampasas Independent School District show that student numbers have dipped about 3% from last year.On Monday, 3,456 students showed up for classes in the LISD, down 118 from the Aug.
