The Lampasas boys’ and girls’ wrestling teams traveled to three different wrestling meets while school was out for Christmas vacation. First was the 26th annual Doc Hess Invitational, which was the biggest tournament of the year at that time.

The Badgers had only one non-district game left on their schedule last week, and they were able to close out that competition with a win to take some momentum into the district schedule. That game was against Glen Rose, a former district opponent, on the road last Friday, and the Badgers won 50-48.

The Lady Badgers traveled to Lago Vista on Friday to open up district play, and they did so with authority. The girls started slowly in the first quarter.

The Lampasas Middle School basketball teams were back in action Thursday against Taylor after an extended break for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. Results were not available by the press deadline, although the LMS Badgers and Lady Badgers went into the break with wins.

The Lady Badgers played hosts to Gateway Prep on Tuesday night. Despite strong efforts, Lampasas came out on the losing end.

The Badger soccer team started its season Tuesday with a match against Harker Heights on the road. Lampasas struggled early and gave up three goals to the fast-paced Knights in the first half.
