Both the basketball and soccer awards banquets will be held this month after those seasons came to an end earlier in the year.First, the boys’ and girls’ basketball banquet will be held together April 16 at 5:45 p.m. in the high school gym.

The Lady Badger softball team put a stop to its four-game losing skid with a 9-3 win over Marble Falls last Thursday.The Lady Badgers played their cleanest game in awhile, as they made just one error in the contest.

The Lampasas tennis team traveled to Taylor last week for the district tennis tournament. Lampasas qualified four individual teams that will move forward to compete at the regional tournament.

Golf teams finish first and second at district tournament

Last Wednesday and Thursday, both the boys’ and girls’ golf teams competed at the district golf tournament at Legends Golf Club in Kingsland.The Lampasas boys emerged as the district champions, and the girls placed second. Both teams will advance to the regional tournament.

Both junior high boys’ track teams ran away with the district title at last week’s meet in Lago Vista.The LMS seventh-grade team won by over 40 points, scoring 87 total. The team standing:1. Lampasas Middle School – 1872. Salado Middle School – 146.333. Burnet Middle School – 1344.

After the drama of the walk-off home run in last Tuesday’s contest with Georgetown Gateway, the Badgers made quicker work of Thursday’s game behind two crooked innings and a dominant performance on the mound from Calvin Phelps to secure an 8-1 win.Phelps pitched the full seven innings.
