The Lady Badgers lost to Salado on Thursday and Llano on Friday in their last two games of non-district before the March 23 district softball opener. In Thursday’s 16-4 loss to Salado, errors were a major factor.

The Badgers are scheduled to host No. 6 China Spring in baseball on Saturday for a non-district match-up. The Lady Badger softball team lost at home on Thursday to Salado, the No. 21 team according to the Texas Girls Coaches Association.

The boys’ state powerlifting meet is Saturday in Abilene at the Taylor County Expo Center. Westen Reid and John Long will compete for Lampasas. Here’s how the Badgers stack up with the state’s best, based on their regional performance.

Trailing by nine runs, the Badgers fought back for a much more competitive loss, 13-10, at Brownwood on Tuesday in district baseball. Ten runs mark the Badgers’ season-high for 2021.

The Lampasas JV girls placed second as a team at their home meet last week, behind Brownwood. The Badger JV boys were fourth in their division.

At the Mullin tennis tournament, Shyanne Tower and Luis Hernandez won first place in mixed doubles. Luis Acevedo took second in boys’ singles. Enrique Caso and Francisco Jaimes teamed up for second in boys’ doubles, and Shelby Hernandez came in third in girls’ singles.

The Lady Badgers won the Gatesville golf tournament on Tuesday, beating Stephenville by 97 strokes. Brownwood and Glen Rose had less than a full team in the girls’ division.
