Lometa football ran into a buzzsaw Friday night, with state-ranked Jonesboro defeating the Hornets 57-8.
The opening drive for Lometa was a calculated effort, with a Jordan Livesay pass to Leonel Caso that put the Hornets on top early. The success was short-lived, however, as Jonesboro scored quickly on back-to-back drives. The opponent led 15-8 at the end of the first quarter.
