A big ‘Thank you’ offered

Body
A big “Thank you” to all who stopped and put out a fire next to my gate on U.S. Highway 281 South on Monday, April 12. If you had not stopped, the fire would have spread and been much worse, especially since phone lines were down and fire departments in both Burnet and Lampasas were difficult to contact.

Open Hanna Springs pool

Body
Summer and warmer weather will soon be upon us, and school will adjourn for the year. We moved to Lometa, Lampasas County, two years ago. We were delighted to discover the Hanna Springs Swimming Pool and park. Our grandchildren loved the water slide, and the shallow end was great for our 3-yearold grandson. We enjoyed the pool many times in 2019.

Let’s help Lampasas grow, but not make it like Marble Falls

Body
After spending almost a year searching for a home (acreage) with certain criteria, my husband and I (both retired) moved to Lampasas about 3½ years ago without knowing a soul in town. We later learned that my husband’s great-great-grandfather is listed on the 1870 census as owning the mercantile store on the town square plus several more lots around the square before and during the time the courthouse was built. His family moved on to New Mexico in 1872.

Operation Christmas Child appreciates support from area

Body
Despite a global pandemic, residents of the Mid-Texas Area shared the true meaning of Christmas with children in need this past holiday season. Generosity throughout the Mid-Texas Area resulted in 16,093 shoebox gifts collected at curbside drop-off locations for the Samaritan’s Purse project Operation Christmas Child.

Silicon Valley’s smuggling apps

Body
The mainstream media is slowly catching on to the “Open Borders, Inc.” racket. Just this week, NBC News reported that smugglers are using Facebook to advertise their services in violation of Facebook’s policy ban on human exploitation and trafficking. The news network appears shocked, shocked, shocked that coordinated illegal activity is booming on Facebook -- one of the world’s biggest and most influential globalist platforms.

Mask-wearing represents fear, not science

Body
When I see people walking outside, often alone with no one anywhere near them, wearing a mask, my primary reactions are disappointment and sadness. I am disappointed because I expected better from my fellow Americans.

Giving false info, or no info

Body
Why do Vice President Harris and President Biden, mainstream media, et. al., call the shooting in Atlanta a racist act? The shooter himself, a white man, stated in so many words that the six Asians and two white men were shot because they were involved with houses of ill repute.

Lobbying against taxpayers

Body
The Texas Legislature is considering legislation that would ban the practice of local politicians using our tax dollars to lobby for legislation that we oppose. This is long overdue and badly needed. Unfortunately, our county commissioners contacted the legislature to oppose this badly needed legislation. That act demonstrated disdain and contempt for those of us who put them into office.

The global trace-and-track regime

Body
The Biden administration’s vaccine passport scheme is just the teeny-tiny tip of a massive privacy invasion iceberg. A year ago, I began chronicling the worldwide weaponization of COVID-19 by big government and big business to trace and track the health data of untold hundreds of millions of human beings. Let’s review.

Biden’s ‘cage’ for American children

Body
Is it better for a 3-year-old child to spend more time with a government employee or a mother? President Joe Biden is pushing for a federal program to put preschool children in the hands of the former -- theoretically, as a benefit to the latter.
