The Texas Constitution, Article 3, Section 24, gives the Texas Legislature 140 days to meet, every other year. On Jan. 10, both the Texas House and Senate convened for the 2023 regular legislative session that will end May 29. The first 30 days are reserved for establishing rules and filing legislation.
