On Thursday, December 16, 1937, Glenn was born to James Glenn Barker and Ella Mae Franklin in San Saba, Texas. On Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at Charlton Methodist Hospital, Dallas, Texas, he died. He was 83 years old. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Glenn and Ella Mae Franklin Barker; grandson, Eric Glenn Barker; brother-in-law and closest friend, George David Scott.
He was smart, he was funny and fun to be with. He was accomplished at whatever he put his hand to. He joined his grandfather and father in the field of construction and carpentry where he became an expert in tiling, cabinet making and flooring. This began his love of woodworking and power tools. Later in life, he became proficient in all areas of maintenance, where he added HVAC to his career successfully. He was a former resident and businessman of Lampasas.
He loved golf. Every weekend for seven years, rain or shine, he was on the golf course perfecting his game. He built his own computers to suit his requirements. He loved music and enjoyed recording his own music from his and his father’s collections.
He is survived by: Wife, Roberta A. Wilson of Cedar Hill, TX, sister, Pam Barker Scott of Plano, TX, nephew, Shawn Scott of Plano, TX, niece, Shelly Scott Ramsey of Prosper, TX. Children: Charles Craig Barker and spouse, Peggy of Lampasas, TX, Mary Michelle Adams and spouse, Art of Round Rock, TX, Michael Anthony Barker of Lake Dallas, TX, Christopher Wade Barker and spouse, Paula of Cayuga, TX. Stepchildren: Debbie Lew and spouse, Andy, Carla Brickner, Joe L. Wilson Jr., Christopher S. Wilson and Michael A. Wilson and spouse, Jennifer. Grandchildren: Kristen McFadin, Kevin Barker, Anthony and Matthew Adams, Charles Wade, Kyle Glenn Barker, Julie Barker and Seth Barker along with 2 great-grandchildren and 1 great-nephew.
Memorial Service is 1:30 PM Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Jaynes Memorial Chapel in Duncanville.
