LOMETA SCHOOL BOARD

The Lometa Independent School District Board of Trustees will meet March 23 at 6:30 p.m. in the school cafeteria, at Eighth and Main streets.

After an open forum for community members’ comments, the board will consider a resolution regarding employee pay during weather emergency.

The board also will consider an audit agreement for the 2020-2021 annual audit.

FOOD PANTRY

St. Mary Catholic Church will hold a drive-through food distribution Friday from 10:30 a.m. to noon. The food pantry will offer large bags of non-perishable canned and boxed groceries, and it plans to have eggs, meat, bread and produce available as well.

All are welcome, and no appointment is needed. Come to the parking lot at 701 N. Key Ave. for distribution.

KEMPNER SLOGAN CONTEST

Kempner is seeking public participation in a competition to pick a new city slogan. Suggestions are due April 9 at 3:30 p.m. The Kempner City Council will vote on the new slogan April 13, and the contest winner will receive a $100 prize – which Mayor Keith Harvey donated.
