Billy Joe Brown, 55, of Lometa died on Feb. 16, 2021 at his residence.

Billy Joe was born at Bergstrom Air Force Base in Austin, on Dec. 10, 1965 to Myron William and Lyndia Dianne (Harrison) Brown.

He had lived in Lometa for the past 10 years. He previously had lived in Cameron, Missouri, where he graduated from high school.

He worked as a cook during his life, cooking at restaurants as well as at retirement homes. Billy Joe was of the Pentecostal faith.

He is survived by his parents, Myron and Lyndia Brown of St. Augustine, Florida; three brothers, Shawn Brown of St. Augustine, Troy Allen Brown of Cameron, Missouri, and Joshua Brett Brown and wife Sherry of Maysville, Missouri; one aunt, Jeanette Sykes of Cameron, Missouri; and four nephews and seven nieces.

Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his grandparents and one uncle, Hugh Brown Jr.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. March 12 at Senterfitt Cemetery in Lometa. Rodney Andrews will officiate the service. Heritage Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
