Dublin resident dies in crash north of Lampasas

A 57-year-old Dublin, Texas, resident was killed in a single-vehicle rollover on U.S. 281 north of Lampasas on Saturday. 

Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers, Lampasas Fire Department, Acadian Ambulance Service and the Lampasas County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of the crash six miles north of Lampasas at 8:30 a.m. 

DPS Sgt. Bryan Washko reported the following: a 2001 Chevrolet HHR Sedan, operated by Florencio Gonzalez Rodriguez, 57, of Dublin, Texas, was  southbound on US 281. The investigation revealed that for reasons unknown the Chevrolet left the roadway, struck a private driveway and rolled over multiple times. Investigators observed signs that Rodriguez was not wearing a safety belt. Rodriguez was pronounced deceased on scene by Justice of the Peace Camron Brister, and the next of kin have been notified.

The crash investigation remained active and open as of Saturday.
