FOOD PANTRY

Due to dangerous road conditions and below-freezing temperatures last week, the Feb. 12 drive-through food pantry distribution at St. Mary Catholic Church has been rescheduled for Feb. 19 from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

This will be the only food pantry date in February, but organizers said there will be plenty of groceries available for participants.

The next distribution dates are March 12 and March 26.

OCCUPANCY RESTRICTIONS EASE

A decrease in hospitalizations across Trauma Service Area L – which includes Lampasas County and several nearby counties – means the service area may reopen at the higher levels allowable under the governor’s Executive Order GA-32, County Judge Randy Hoyer announced in a news release Feb. 11.

For seven consecutive days – at the time of the news release – patients hospitalized due to COVID-19 accounted for less than 15% of total hospital capacity in the trauma service area.

As a result, businesses in Lampasas County may operate at up to 75% occupancy. Also, all licensed hospitals in Trauma Service Area L may resume elective surgeries as set forth in Executive Order GA-32.

Trauma Service Area L also includes Bell, Coryell, Hamilton, Milam and Mills counties.
