The Lampasas Lady Badgers' season ended in the bi-district playoffs with a 62-54 loss to Graham. Taylor Allen made five three-pointers, and Laurcy Bender made four three-pointers.
The Lometa girls won bi-district and advanced to face Iredell in area with a 66-41 win over Gustine on Saturday.
The Lampasas and Lometa varsity boys have both qualified for the playoffs. But the time and location of their upcoming playoff games had not been determined at press time.
The Lady Hornets' next opponent, Iredell, is a district champion that earned a first-round bye. At press time, the area championship was scheduled, tentatively for Feb. 16, but winter weather was likely to postpone that.
Lometa has won five straight games. Iredell (22-2) was ranked No. 11 in last week’s Texas Girls Coaches Association poll and No. 21 in the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches poll.
Sisters Claudia Carbajal and Janette Carbajal combined for about two-thirds of Lometa’s scoring. Claudia started strong, with 13 points in the first quarter, and Janette hit double-digits in the fourth quarter.
