TxDOT’s contractor will close the U.S. 183 bridge at Sulphur Creek for routine maintenance below the bridge.To safely complete this work, crews will conduct brief overnight closures of the bridge. Each closure is expected to last approximately 15 minutes and will occur between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Session slated on pond management

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will hold a Pond Management session March 3 at 1 p.m. in the county annex conference room, 409 S. Pecan St. in Lampasas. Cost is $20. Topics will include fish management practices -- such as for catfish shown here -- and aquatic vegetation management.

Seven tables of players were present for Community Bridge on Feb. 9. Weldon Clampitte was welcomed to the group.Margaret Oberender won high for the day, Sylvia Miller was second, and Kathy Griffis-Bailey placed third. Both the slam prize and the high-round prize went to the team of Oberender-Miller.
