Burn ban lifted temporarily after recent rain

The ban on outdoor burning in the county has been lifted until Monday at 5 p.m. Landowners who plan to burn this weekend are asked to notify the sheriff’s department of their plans and to exercise caution.

Wellness event to center on reducing stress

To help residents beat the stress of the holidays, Lampasas Community Gardens is offering a Wellness Seminar focusing on heart health. The session will be held Dec. 13 from 10 a.m. to noon at First Presbyterian Church.A suggested donation of $25 may be paid at the door.

Prices for centerpiece turkeys are up, but overall consumers are likely to see a mixed bag of price increases and decreases as they shop for traditional Thanksgiving holiday meals, according to a recent news release from Texas A&M AgriLife.
