A Kempner resident was arrested early Friday morning on two first-degree charges after he allegedly pointed a firearm at two Kempner Police Department officers Wednesday evening. Steven Neal, 25, is facing two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon against a public servant.

Freezing precipitation on the horizon for county

This weekend could be a great time to stay inside as temperatures are set to drop into the teens and possibly single digits, with winter precipitation that could include freezing rain and snow, according to the National Weather Service.

LISD trustees lock in $139.6 million bond propositions

The Lampasas ISD Board of Trustees has finalized propositions to be included on a May 2026 bond election ballot. The district is asking voters to authorize approximately $139.6 million in spending.
