TxDOT sets new open house dates for U.S. 281 project

After a canceled public meeting on July 25, TxDOT officials have rescheduled a virtual and in-person open house for early November to discuss the expansion of U.S. Highway 281 between Lampasas and Evant. The open house has one virtual time frame and two in-person meeting options.

Storm’s Showdown tournament set for Oct. 7

The second annual Storm’s Showdown will take place Saturday at Storm’s Drive-In. The cornhole tournament will be held in the back parking lot of the restaurant at 201 N. Key Ave., beginning at 10 a.m.

Munisteri to address Lampasas Republicans on Thursday

The Oct. 5 noon meeting of the Lampasas County Republican Party will include a special guest speaker. Steve Munisteri, special adviser to Gov. Greg Abbott, will address the group.

Lometa ISD reviews campus progress, fencing project

The Lometa Independent School District Board of Trustees met recently for its September meeting, centered around reports and updates of campus activities. Superintendent Rob Moore presented parts of the district’s academic plan, as well as an update to construction projects.
