Construction of eight different workout stations, courtesy of the Lampasas Lions Club, is now complete at the 580 Sports Complex. The new additions provide local residents with extra options for maintaining fitness.

Garrett seeks judicial post in March Republican primary

Bell County District Attorney/ prosecutor Debbie Garrett has filed for a place on the Republican Primary ballot in the race for Judge of the 27th District Court. The court covers Bell and Lampasas counties. Incumbent Judge John Gauntt is not running for re-election to the post.
The chart shows sales tax allocations for the city of Lampasas in 2022 and 2023. Its largest monthly payment came in February, when Lampasas received a check for $291,422. The 2023 rebates in June, July, August, September, October and December trailed those from the comparable periods in 2022, however. Lampasas ends the year with a cumulative sales tax total of $2.91 million, slightly more than its $2.87 million receipts for last year. DISPATCH RECORD GRAPH

The final sales tax allocations of the year have been sent to local cities, counties and special entities that levy a tax on goods sold within their jurisdiction. December payments are based on sales made in October by business that report their tax monthly.

Boil water notice issued for citizens west of Key Avenue

The city of Lampasas has issued a boil water notice for residents west of Key Avenue due to a break discovered in a mainline.  City officials issued the notice at 6:10 p.m. Tuesday after a break was located in a mainline near the intersection of 4th Street and Willis Street.  As of 8:18 p.m.

Kline Whitis Elementary School custodian Mary Ejem is ringing in the Christmas season with a life-size snow globe created for students and staff to enjoy throughout the holiday season.

Providence Christian Academy of Lampasas held its second annual banquet and fundraiser at Lampasas Methodist Church on Dec. 8. Approximately 200 attended the event.

KWSC releases application for board of directors

The Kempner Water Supply Corp. announced on Friday that applications for a Board of Director position are available. Applications must be completed and turned into the KWSC office by Jan. 28, 2024 to verify qualifications and receive a spot on the ballot.
