Lampasas police seek suspects involved in string of burglaries

The Lampasas Police Department is looking for suspects involved in a string of burglaries that occurred Monday night. Assistant Chief of Police Jody Cummings confirmed that four local businesses — MoJo’s Coffee, Donut Palace, Lucy Suz and Memo’s Mexican Restaurant — were burglarized in the overnight hours.

GRAND JURY

The Lampasas County grand jury convened Wednesday. Investigator David Thorp of the Lampasas County Sheriff’s Office offered information that resulted in the indictment of Brandon Lee Young on a charge of assault of a family member with a previous conviction on Aug.

The following arrests were reported to the Lampasas Dispatch Record by area law enforcement officials. The Dispatch Record prints the name and charge(s) of people arrested on at least one Class B misdemeanor – or more serious – charge.

City officials talk project status, business park

In a three-hour roundtable discussion Monday, Lampasas City Council and municipal staff learned the status of 39 capital projects and agreed to move forward with developing a business park. City Manager Finley deGraffenried led the talks on projects and funding.

Jail demo date set for Feb. 21

County officials have confirmed that the old jail building will disappear by way of demolition in about two weeks. But first, the former Lampasas County Jail on East Fourth Street must have asbestos abatement performed.
