City proceeds with LISD, county EMS agreements

In a meeting Monday, the Lampasas City Council voted to move forward with agreements to hire two new school resource officers and share funding for emergency medical services. City Manager Finley deGraffenried said the original interlocal agreement between the city and Lampasas ISD for resource officers was formed in 2018, and includes three officers.

Burn ban still in place despite rainfall

Although rainfall and cooler temperatures were recorded this week, county officials did not lift the burn ban. The topic was discussed briefly Monday among members of the Lampasas County Commissioners Court and Sheriff Jess Ramos.

Rain, rain, please stay!

The Lampasas area experienced some rainfall over several days this past week. The National Weather Service predicts more rain chances this coming week with a 50% chance on Monday and Tuesday. Lower chances of rainfall are expected through the rest of the week.

Lampasas ISD approves $37.7 million for operations budget

With approval of the district’s budget Monday night, the Lampasas Independent School District Board of Trustees proposed a drop in the property tax rate and a raise in pay for employees. The general fund budget for the new school year will be more than $37.7 million, which includes a net funding decrease of about $1.7 million from the previous budget.

STALEMATE: Hanna Springs renovation decision postponed

City officials and local history enthusiasts reached a stalemate Monday evening regarding the future of the stone wall that surrounds the Hanna Springs. The Lampasas City Council voted to fence the springs area and postpone any decision on renovations until more discussions can take place.
