Lometa Independent School District Board of Trustees approved the budget and tax rate for the 2024-2025 school year at a meeting on Aug. 27.The budget and tax rate were discussed at the board’s regular meeting Aug. 6, when Superintendent Rob Moore presented them in his financial report.

The city of Lampasas has begun work on a roadway improvement project for East Second Street that is expected to be complete within 180 days. Signs such as this one on South Live Oak reflect the closure of several blocks in the downtown area.

4-H KICKOFF MEETINGLampasas County 4-H will hold its kickoff meeting Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the Lampasas County Show Barn, 283 North U.S. Highway 183. The various youth projects available this year will be discussed, and interested members can ask questions.

School board approves tax rate, new budget

The Lampasas Independent School District Board of Trustees approved its 2024-2025 fiscal year budget and tax rate during an Aug. 26 board meeting.Prior to approval, a public hearing was held over the proposed budget and tax rate, however no citizens were present to offer any comments on concerns.
