Drivers urged to be cautious of pedestrians as days get shorter

It will be more challenging to see pedestrians as days get shorter during the fall and winter months. That’s why TxDOT’s “Be Safe. Drive Smart.” safety campaign is kicking off National Pedestrian Safety Month, reminding drivers and pedestrians to stay alert and watch out for each other.

FFA Range and Land teams place in competition

Lampasas FFA members recently competed in the Comal-Guadalupe SWCD CDE Contests. There, students had their first contests of the year for Range and Land Judging. Pictured left to right are Zane Martin, Chance Simpson, Tate Langford, Royce Clary, Clayton Shaw, Zechariah Randall and Hunter Sappenfield. The Range team consisted of Tate Langford, Zechariah Randall and Clayton Shaw. They placed fifth overall, with Langford earning eighth-high individual. The Land Judging team of Royce Clary, Zane Martin, Hunter Sappenfield and Chance Simpson placed eighth overall in its competition.
