New Lometa ISD athletic facilities nearing completion

Lometa Independent School District’s athletic program will start the new year in a big way, with two new facility upgrades set to be completed. A new track, which began construction in September, and an updated weight room will be the district’s first new structures since it finished the secondary classroom building in 2016.

Lometa students offer ‘Salute to Veterans’

Lometa’s elementary school choir -- which features third-, fourth and fifth-grade students performed the national anthem during Lometa’s Salute to Veterans program on Nov. 11. The event’s keynote speaker was Roni Cartwright, not pictured, who spoke to those in attendance about the joy she found serving in the military, as well as the benefits of service.

Lometa announces second six-weeks’ awards

Lometa Principal Amanda Morris has released the school’s list of honor students and those with perfect attendance for the second six-week grading period. “I am very proud of our students and can’t wait to see their successes up ahead,” Morris said.

Veterans hosted for meal
