Thursday, May 8, marked the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day, the date on which “The Allied Armies, through sacrifice and devotion and with God’s help, have won from Germany a final and unconditional surrender,” as then-President Harry Truman said in 1945.

Commencement scheduled for Badger Stadium

Last week’s thunderstorms brought varying rainfall amounts across Lampasas County and a tornado near its border with Burnet County south of the Kempner area.The National Weather Service anticipates more thunderstorms for the area this week.
