Freshman sets strikeout record in junior varsity game

Callum Mitchell has been an effective pitcher all season for the Badger junior varsity baseball team, but in a start last Friday he had some of his best stuff. Over 6 2/3 innings against the Lago Vista Vikings, the Lampasas High School freshman struck out 19 batters of the 20 outs he recorded in a 7-3 win.

Lampasas man faces adjudication in child sex abuse case

A Lampasas County man will face adjudication on a child sexual assault charge after he is said to have violated his sex offender registry guidelines. Fidencio Constatino Maldonado has been issued another felony charge after failing to maintain his sex offender registration.
