Lampasas firemen extinguished a house fire at 418 W. Fifth St. Wednesday evening. Before firefighters’ arrival, a neighbor used a water hose to slow development of the blaze.

In honor of fallen Bell County Sheriff’s Department Deputy John Rhoden, the Lampasas Fire Department and Burnet Fire Department raise the American flag over North Avenue on Friday shortly before the funeral procession entered Lampasas. Rhoden was a 2006 Lampasas High School graduate who died in the line of duty on April 26, assisting with a vehicle pursuit.
