The city of Lometa soon will have a helicopter landing pad at a local park, after the Lometa City Council members voted unanimously last week to approve the project. The small runway at the Lometa Regional Park will be for emergencies only.
Prior to the vote, former mayor and volunteer firefighter Carlos Garcia explained the need for the 50x50-foot landing pad.
