A prayer vigil will be held this evening for a Lampasas graduate injured in a head-on collision.
Madison Roedler, a 2023 Lampasas High School graduate and 2022-2023 Prom Queen, was seriously injured in a two-vehicle collision just before midnight Saturday. Family and friends have organized a prayer vigil for her recovery at Putters & Gutters at 5:30 p.m. tonight.
According to posts from friends on social media, Roedler suffered extensive injuries but was alert as of Monday night. Roedler’s mother, Monica Roedler, shared the following statement on social media via multiple family friends:
“After a long day of hoping and praying and at 8:30 p.m. Madison was coherent, responsive and communicated with us on a note pad (with neat handwriting)! She is still ventilated but this is the best we have seen her yet. God is good all the time, all the time God is good. We know that her progress is due to each of you and your prayers and for that we are so grateful. We have an another big day tomorrow and we still need you. Tomorrow we will try to move her from the ventilator to the CPAP to see if she can breathe on her own.”
As of Tuesday morning, former Lampasas ISD student Aidan Lavka, also involved in the accident, remained hospitalized at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple.
During her time at LHS, Madison Roedler was 2022-2023 Homecoming Queen, an Academic All-District volleyball player as well as a 2022 American Legion Auxiliary Bluebonnet Girls State participant.

A second prayer vigil for Roedler and Lavka has been scheduled for Friday, March 8 at 5 p.m. at the Lampasas Courthouse Square.
