The outside travel lanes of U.S. Highway 281 from Key Avenue south to the Lampasas County line were expected to be closed in both directions this week, according to TxDOT.
Daily lane closures will occur from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with the work expected to be completed soon.
Motorists are reminded to obey speed limits and to watch for work crews and equipment.
