Update: At about 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, just after the Dispatch Record's print deadline, KWSC officials rescinded the boil water notice for all customers.

"The public water system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of the water distributed by this public water system used for drinking water or human consumption purposes and has provided TCEQ with laboratory test results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling prior to use as of May 25," officials said in a statement.

A line break on Pedernales Lane has forced Kempner Water Supply Corporation to issue a boil notice for all customers.
The order was advised by the Texas Commission On Environmental Quality.
All Kempner Water Supply Co. customers must boil their water before consumption, including washing hands and face, brushing teeth, drinking, and any other reason to use water. Children, seniors, and those with weakened immune systems are more vulnerable to harmful bacteria that could be in the water.
Kempner Water Supply Co. notes the boil notice is “specifically for those who experienced the loss of water from the leak on Pedernales Ln.” Those streets include Hickory Street, Peach Street, County Road 4620, Pecan Street, Pedernales Ln., County Road 4616, and Pecos Lane.
“To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled and cooled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes,” Kempner Water Supply Co. said in a customer alert. “The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes.”
Kempner Water Supply Co. notes customers will be made aware when water is safe to drink. For those with any questions concerning the boil water notice, you can reach Kempner Water Supply at 512-932-3701 or 254-547-9430.
