Home along FM 1690 engulfed by flames

A one-story home located along 7000 Farm-to-Market Road 1690 was lost to flames in the midnight hours on Aug. 22.

Lampasas Volunteer Fire Department Chief Tim Weinrick says the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

Weinrich says the Lampasas VFD was notified of the structure fire at 12:30 a.m. Lampasas VFD responders arrived on the scene at 12:56 a.m. to the far east side of the home completely taken over by fire. The garage which contained two vehicles was also engulfed. Weinrich describes the home as a total loss.

Outside the home, Weinrich says the damage was limited to the grass surrounding the home. The fire was contained within the fencing around the home.

The fire was contained around 3 a.m. The two occupants in the home were able to exit the home safely, Weinrich says.

Additional agencies on the scene included the Adamsville, Evant, Gatesville, and Lometa Volunteer departments, along with Hamilton County EMS, Coryell County Sheriff’s Office, and the Lampasas County Sheriff’s Office.
