The repaired headstone of sheriff Albertus Sweet, who served Lampasas from 1873-1878, is to be unveiled during a short program March 7 at 2 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Sweet was killed Dec. 9, 1881 in Belton while assisting the Bell County sheriff with an arrest. His remains were returned to Lampasas, where he was buried.
