Flood watch, heavy rain in forecast

With heavy rain in the forecast for Lampasas County, the National Weather Service has issued a flood watch from tonight at 7 p.m. though Sunday at 7 p.m.
In a hazardous weather outlook report, NWS meteorologists note possibilities of severe storms that could bring large-sized hail this evening. 
This afternoon, the NWS said there is a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms with southeast wind gusts as high as 20 mph. Tonight, showers and thunderstorms are expected after 1 a.m. with a 70% chance and a low of 66 degrees.
During the day Saturday, the NWS lists a 90% chance of severe thunderstorms with a high of 78 degrees and southeast winds ranging from 10 to 15 mph Later in the day, showers and thunderstorms are likely throughout the night with a 70% chance of precipitation. The NWS estimates between three quarters and one inch of rainfall for both tonight and Saturday. 
Sunday includes a 80% chance of showers and thunderstorms with a high of 76 degrees and a light southeast wind at 10 mph. At night on Mother’s Day, the NWS has a 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Rain showers are likely to continue through Monday morning.
