Newspaper intern: ‘Competing in journalism contests helped shape my writing, brought rewards’

This past month, I had the wonderful opportunity to attend the UIL Academic State Championship in Austin. I competed in copy editing and placed third at the regional meet, which qualified me for the state meet. At the state meet, I placed third again.
