Fort Hood among those being considered for renaming
A military commission has been tasked with providing Congress recommendations for changing the names of U.S. military bases that reflect former leaders of the Confederacy, but first it is seeking public input.
One of the 10 Army bases considered for renaming is Fort Hood. It was named after Gen. John Bell Hood, who is best known for commanding the Texas Brigade during the Civil War.
