Group pays tribute to nation’s heroes

Volunteers across the United States placed more than 2.7 million wreaths on veterans’ graves as part of the National Wreaths Across America event. The recognition takes place annually on the third Saturday of December. At Smith Cemetery at School Creek, 58 veterans were honored by more than 28 local volunteers on Dec. 17.
