Rachel Wolfe of Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, became the bride of Joshua Ray Schmidgall on Sept. 19, 2020.

The groom is the son of Daniel and Mary Schmidgall of Fairbury, Illinois. His grandparents are Sandra Johnson, and Alma Jean and David Schmidgall.

The bridge is the daughter of Lewis and Reba Wolfe of Lampasas. Her grandparents are Elder Carl and Gwendolyn Watson, Charles and Helen Wolfe, and Anne M. Wolfe.

She earned a double major in music and theatre from The University of Texas in Austin, and she received her master’s in music from the University of Illinois.

The couple were wed in a double-ring ceremony at the United Methodist Church in Cropsey, Illinois.

Serving as ushers for the ceremony were Daniel Schmidgall, the groom’s brother, and Matthew Wolfe, the brother of the bride.

The bride sang a song by Elvis Presley, “I Can’t Help Falling in Love With You.”

Other musical selections during the ceremony were “Marry Me” by Train and “Psalm 45” by Shane & Shane.

The bride wore an A-line, off-the-shoulder gown made of rose-gold lace fabric with sequins. She was adorned with a satin rhinestone belt, ballgown-elbow gloves and rose-gold stilettos. Her veil was a two-tiered, waist-length satin mesh fabric.

She wore her hair in ringlets, swept upward with a rose-gold grecian-style leaf crown.

The bridal bouquet included dusty peach roses, purple iris, baby’s breath and blue violets.

As part of the ceremony, the bride’s brother read a compilation of Bible verses on marriage selected by the couple.

The church was decorated with autumn floral décor. A steak dinner and reception were hosted after the ceremony by the groom’s parents.

The bride’s cake was an apple spice cake with whipped maple-cinnamon filling. It featured three tiers, decorated with flowers on each tier to match her bouquet.

After a wedding trip to a five-star resort in Indianapolis, the couple is at home in Danville, Illinois.
