On the hunt for some eggs?
Several Easter celebrations are planned this weekend, as churches and local businesses offer family fun to young ones on the lookout for prizes and candy.
Here are a few Easter egg hunts scheduled across the area.
Lily Springs Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center will host an egg hunt event Friday from noon to 2 p.m. which is free to the community. Sno cones, hot dogs and drinks will be provided, and a bouncy house will be on site. The Easter Bunny is rumored to make an appearance at the center at 901 Central Texas Expressway.
Putters & Gutters Fun Center is sponsoring egg hunts Saturday for those ages 3 to 14, beginning with 3- to 6-year-olds at 10 a.m. Ages 7-10 will hunt eggs at 10:30 a.m., and those ages 10 to 14 will hunt at 11 a.m. Eggs will be stuffed with candy as well as free bowling and mini-golf game certificates. A golden egg will be hidden for each age group. The fun center is located at 2341 U.S. Highway 281 in Lampasas.
On Saturday, Open Gate Cowboy Church will host its 4th Annual Community Easter Egg Hunt in W.M. Brook Park. The egg hunt is open to anyone up to age 14.
Egg hunts will be offered for four age groups, starting with children under 3 at 10:30 a.m. and finishing with the 12- to 14-year-olds at 11:30 a.m. A special golden prize egg will be hidden for each age group. For adults, prize drawings will take place.
Live baby chickens and rabbits will be available, as well as pony rides, crafts and face painting. Hot dogs and drinks will be available for $3.
Those on the north end of the county may want to attend the Evant Municipal Development District-sponsored egg hunt at Evant City Park. Participants should bring their own basket. Activities for youth begin at 3 p.m. Saturday.
The adult egg hunt for those 21 and up begins at 4 p.m., and a $5 entry fee is required. A free hot dog meal will be provided by Evant Volunteer Fire Department.
