The Lampasas tennis team pulled out a close win over the Brownwood Lions last Thursday. “The past five years have been decided by one or two matches, and this year was just as close,” Badger head coach Kenneth Peiser.

Lampasas came up short in a tough battle with the No. 5-ranked Wimberley Texans last Friday night. The 41-20 loss was the Badgers’ first of the season, and it came in their final non-district game. In simple terms, the game came down to missed opportunities by the Badger offense.

Boys’ cross country team comes home with silver medal

The Lampasas cross country teams traveled to Salado last week, and the boys’ team came home with its second runner-up finish of the season, competing against schools ranging from 1A to 4A divisions. Kent Ashley and Brayden Phillips both medaled with their top 15 finishes.

The Lampasas Middle School football teams hosted Lago Vista on Tuesday, and the seventh-grade “A” team came out victorious, 20-6. Day Silva started the scoring with a 30-yard touchdown catch thrown by Ross Kothmann. The Badger defense gave up a touchdown early but played lights out after that.
