Girls’ basketball team kicks off home summer league

The Lady Badgers will be playing each Monday this month at the high school in a summer basketball league against schools from around the area.They started this week with a very tight, 30-29 win over Copperas Cove.In game two, Lampasas played Hamilton and struggled to score, losing 25-12.

Badgers start 7-on-7 league in Killeen

Participation in 7-on-7 football is a staple of the summer for most high school programs around the country. The Badgers have started their busiest month with a league at Chaparral High School in Killeen, where they will compete against Copperas Cove and Chaparral every Tuesday in June.

Annual Kid Fish starts today

The annual Kid Fish event, hosted by the Lampasas Parks & Recreation Department, begins today.The event at W.M. Brook Park is open to kids ages 2 to 16. The event is come one, come all, and has been held in Lampasas for more than 16 years.Fishing registration will begin at 5:30 p.m.

Several Badgers received All-District recognition for their efforts on the baseball diamond this spring.Nine different Badgers received an All-District recognition, starting with Jonas Andersen and J.T. Posten on the first team.

Basketball team picks up two wins in Llano summer games

On Thursday night, the Badger basketball team went back to Llano for another week of summer league action. Lampasas went 2-0 on the day.The Badgers started the evening with a 42-34 win over Blanco. They were led in scoring by Beau Patterson with 15 points and Calum Mitchell with nine.

Badger basketball back in action at Georgetown summer league

The Badgers started their second summer league of the month, playing in Georgetown at East View High School against predominantly larger schools.They played twice on Wednesday night, with games against Vandergrift and East View.In the Vandergrift game, Lampasas battled well but lost by nine, 58-49.
