Badgers’ summer conditioning lays foundation for athletic program

The Badger athletic program has been under the direction of Troy Rogers for nine years now. Studentathletes have been training in the summer conditioning program called SWAT -- Strength, Weights and Agility Training -- all of those years.

Winner of Spring Ho Kiddie Fishing Derby brought in nearly 20 fish

Last Wednesday, young anglers with cane poles lined both sides of the creek in W.M. Brook Park for the annual Spring Ho Kiddie Fishing Derby.The overall winner, based on the number of fish caught, was Roy Stewart with 19 fish.Stewart also won his 11to 12-year-old age division.

Youth and adults race kayaks in Brook Park

The Saturday of Spring Ho week offers kayak races at W.M. Brook Park, with four different categories where adults and youth compete racing down the creek and back.In the Adult Tandem division, only one team entered this year. Zac Morris and Blair Redd finished in 2:12, taking home first place.

Lady Badger basketball wins both games at Llano Summer League

The Lady Badger basketball team started a new summer league Tuesday in Llano, where they will play additional games on a couple of upcoming Tuesdays.Lampasas finished 2-0 in games against Llano and Mason. There were some scoreboard issues during the game, so scoring was hard to track.

The Kiddie Fishing Derby will take place from 8-10 a.m. Wednesday at W.M. Brook Park.Youth ages 5 to 12 will line the creek in the park with cane poles and many different forms of bait to try and catch some fish during the 2024 Spring Ho event.There is no registration required to participate.
