The annual ATLAS 4000 bicycle ride across the country begins this weekend.
The unofficial send-off for the trek to Alaska will be Friday, starting at 8 a.m. on The University of Texas campus.
On Saturday, the ride begins. Those interested in cycling with the group of UT students can sign up a 25-mile or 50-mile stretch across a portion of Lampasas County to help raise funds for cancer research.
