Edith Gail (Carpenter) Adams, 78, of Oakalla, died on Jan. 24, 2026.Gail was born June 24, 1947 in Lampasas, the daughter of Nolan Elsworth Carpenter and Ruby Janice Wells.Gail graduated from Copperas Cove High School in 1965, then attended Durham’s Business College.

Gary Raymond Fritz, 68, died on Jan. 13, 2026, at his home in Lampasas.A memorial service will be held at Bertram First Baptist Church, 325 S. Gabriel St., on Feb. 7 at 10 a.m. Burial of Gary’s ashes will take place at Bear Creek Cemetery, 201 CR 270 in Bertram, following the service.

Ramona Fay Smothers, 65, died on Jan. 22, 2026, surrounded by her family.She was born on Sept. 15, 1960 in Neubrucke, Germany to Paul and Mina “Fay” Supon. Mona grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and graduated from Widefield High School.In high school she met Henry Marshall Smothers Jr.

James Clinton “Jim” Cox died on Jan. 11, 2026, at his home in Kempner, surrounded by his family, after a brief illness.Visitation will be held Jan. 29 from 5-7 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in Lampasas.Funeral service is set for Jan. 30 at 11 a.m., also at Heritage Funeral Home.
