Angel Tree project to provide gifts for children

Lampasas High School’s FCCLA organization is sponsoring an Angel Tree project for the community.

FCCLA adviser Jason Walsh said the group is working in conjunction with Child Protective Services and plans to provide Christmas gifts this year for 70 local children in need.

Earlier in November, each academic class had an opportunity to select an angel ornament from the decorated Angel Tree in the high school lobby. Listed on the back was the age of a local child, his or her favorite snack, favorite cartoon/ hero character, clothing sizes and several wish-list items.

Students were encouraged to purchase an item off the child’s wish list or a small gift card to help meet the child’s needs.

The bagged gifts will be returned to the Angel Tree on Dec. 4, when FCCLA members will take students’ photos and made a personalized Christmas card to accompany the class’ gift to each child.
