DISTRICT COURT

Lampasas County 27th District Court convened last week with Judge John Gauntt presiding over the day’s hearings.

Murder defendant Markevious Rayshun Myers of Copperas Cove had his bond reduced from $30,000 to a $2,500 personal recognizance bond. He is scheduled next for a Jan. 15 plea hearing with presentence investigation. Myers faces a charge of murder that stems from the Vance Henry Helzer shooting in September 2019.

In other action from Nov. 6, the court granted a motion to destroy a computer owned by Joshua McDaniel of Kempner. In July, McDaniel was assessed five years’ deferred probation for possession of child pornography.

Moved to the docket for Nov. 13 are the following:

Plea hearings for Orlando Matthew Foix of Lampasas, who has one charge of burglary of a building and one charge of evading arrest/detention with a previous conviction.

Foix also has a plea hearing set Nov. 13 on a charge of possession of a controlled substance less than 1 gram.

Pretrial hearing for Alana Marie Lopez of Temple, on a charge of evading arrest/detention with a vehicle.

An adjudication hearing for Domonique Deshoun Gatlin of Bellmead has been reset for Nov. 20. Gatlin faces a charge of burglary of a habitation.

Hearings slated for Dec. 11 in 27th District Court include:

Pretrial hearing for Anthony Dennis Crowley of Lampasas, on a charge of unauthorized use of a vehicle. A waiver of arraignment has been filed.

Pretrial hearing for Keilyla Taijeron of Kempner, on a charge of injury to a child/elderly/disabled person causes reckless bodily injury/mental impairment.

Pretrial hearings for Andrew Camps of Kempner, on a charge of possession of a controlled substance over 4 grams and less than 200 grams, and one charge of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. His bond was reduced to $2,500 on each charge.

When the court convenes in 2021, these cases are slated to be heard on Jan. 15:

Pretrial hearing with presentence investigation for Chasity Martin of Brady, on a charge of hinder secured creditors over $2,500 and less than $30,000.

Pretrial hearing with presentence investigation for Ariel Denise Arce of Lampasas, on a charge of possession of a controlled substance less than 1 gram.

Pretrial hearings for Tommy Ray Hultz of Copperas Cove, on a charge of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, a charge of burglary of a building, one charge of burglary of a habitation, one charge of possession of a controlled substance over 4 grams and less than 200 grams, and a charge of possession of a controlled substance less than 1 gram.

Pretrial hearing for Brian Michael Lofton of Copperas Cove, on a charge of possession of a controlled substance over 4 grams and less than 200 grams.

Pretrial hearings for Michael Clayton Robinson of Belton, on a charge of unauthorized use of a vehicle and a charge of bail jumping and failure to appear-felony.

Pretrial hearing for Raymond Michael Malone of Dallas, on a charge of theft of service over $30,000 and less than $150,000.

Pretrial hearings for Weldon Louis Evridge of Kempner, on two charges of indecency with a child-sexual contact.

Pretrial hearing for John Lee Champion of Copperas Cove, on a charge of theft of property over $2,500 and less than $30,000.

Pretrial hearing for Jose Diego Gonzalez of Lampasas, on a charge of abandon/endanger a child-criminal negligence.

Pretrial hearing for Oshaun Ray Robinson of Killeen, on a charge of evading arrest/detention with a vehicle.

Pretrial hearing for Lucio Jose Cuellar of Kempner, on a charge of injury to a child/elderly/disabled person causes reckless bodily injury/mental impairment.

Plea hearing with updated presentence investigation for Stacey Dawne Aleman of Lampasas, on a charge of prohibited substance/item in a correctional facility and a charge of forgery of a government instrument/money/securities.

Sentencing with presentence investigation for Samuel Rodriguez of Lampasas. He entered a plea of guilty to a charge of possession of a controlled substance less than 1 gram, but the findings were withheld.

On Jan. 22, Dustin Jared Peak of Lampasas is scheduled for a pretrial hearing on a charge of driving while intoxicated-third or more.
