A two-vehicle crash on FM 580 sent to men to the hospital and left their vehicles severely damaged Oct. 30.
According to a Department of Public Safety report, a 43-year-old man in a 2001 GMC SUV was following a 53-year-old man driving a 2001 Chevrolet pick-up truck towing a trailer.
Both men were from Lampasas and westbound in a no-passing zone.
The SUV driver disregarded the no-passing zone marking and attempted to pass the pick-up truck as it turned left into a private driveway a half mile west of County Road 1320.
The vehicles collided and sustained major damage, according to the report.
The SUV driver was transported to the Baylor Scott & White Medical Center Emergency Department in Temple with incapacitating injuries, and the pick-up truck driver was transported to AdventHealth Rollins Brook with non-incapacitating injuries.
