Law enforcement officials see need for license plate readers in county

Lampasas County has four Flock cameras inside its borders, operated by the Texas Department of Public Safety. The devices that capture images of passing vehicles have drawn national scrutiny over privacy and data sharing concerns.

Neither the Lampasas Police Department nor the Lampasas County Sheriff’s Office utilize Flock cameras, officials said. Both agencies use Motorola Vigilant license readers…
