Lampasas resident helped shape top-fuel motocycle drag racing

An early pioneer of fuel motorcycle drag racing, Lampasas County resident Mel Disharoon has reached speeds few others have matched.

In the 1960s, Disharoon tested the limits of motorcycles, setting multiple track records at Lions Drag Strip near Long Beach, California.
