County has no burn ban in place, but officials urge caution with fires

With consistent high temperatures and dry conditions across the county, some residents are questioning whether a burn ban is needed. The Lampasas Commissioners Court gave its answer on Monday: No burn ban is in place. The adopted outdoor burning guidelines stand.

DISTRICT COURT

Lampasas County 27 th District Court convened last week with Judge John Gauntt presiding over the day’s hearings.

The following arrests were reported to the Lampasas Dispatch Record by area law enforcement officials. The Dispatch Record prints the name and charge(s) of people arrested on at least one Class B misdemeanor – or more serious – charge.

SHEEP AND GOAT AUCTION

The June 24 market report from Mills County Commission Co. follows. Total receipts: 3,235. Previous week: 2,727. Trends: Light kids $10-$15 lower. Slaughter kids $10 lower; slaughter nannies $10 higher; replacement nannies $10 higher.

CATTLE AUCTION

The report from the June 30 Lampasas Cattle Auction follows. Cattle and calves: Total cattle 506, compared to 563 last sale and no sale at this time last year. Compared to last sale, feeder steers and heifers were steady to $3 lower. Slaughter cows and slaughter bulls were $1-$3 lower.
