Former longtime county tax assessor-collector Linda Crawford of Lampasas died on Aug. 8, 2021 at AdventHealth Central Texas in Killeen. She was 68. Graveside services were held at Watson Cemetery in Burnet County on Aug. 12. Sneed Funeral Chapel in Lampasas had charge of arrangements.

Structure fire causes power outage

A man conducting a burn in barrels outside a structure caused a fire that resulted in a power outage Wednesday on the west side of town, Lampasas Fire Chief Jeff Smith said. The Lampasas Fire Department responded to the fire about 6 p.m. in the 1000 block of West Avenue E.

Judge Hoyer: ‘Do not dump on county roads’

County Judge Randy Hoyer made a plea Monday to residents to take care of county roads. At the Lampasas County Commissioners Court meeting, Hoyer and county staff discussed the large amounts of trash dumped illegally along some county roads and the eyesore that creates.
